Key Responsibilities:
As a Behavioural Teaching Assistant at Ortus Recruitment, you will:
- Behavioural Support: Provide one-on-one and group support to students with behavioural challenges, helping them to manage their emotions and behaviours effectively.
- Collaboration: Work closely with teachers and the school’s behavioural support team to develop and implement behaviour intervention plans and strategies.
- Individualized Care: Tailor your support to the unique needs of each student, fostering a safe and inclusive learning environment.
- Data Collection: Document and track student behaviour and progress, providing feedback to the teaching staff and behaviour specialists.
- Crisis Management: Assist in de-escalating and managing challenging situations and behaviours when necessary, prioritizing the safety and well-being of all students.
- Positive Reinforcement: Implement positive behavior reinforcement techniques to encourage and motivate students.
Requirements:
To be successful in this role, you should have:
- Experience: Previous experience working as a Behavioural Teaching Assistant or in a related role is highly desirable.
- Behavioral Knowledge: A strong understanding of behavioral management techniques and strategies, including Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), is a significant asset.
- Empathy and Patience: The ability to connect with students, show empathy, and remain patient and calm in challenging situations.
- Effective Communication: Strong communication skills to collaborate with students, teachers, and parents effectively.
- Flexibility: Adaptability to meet the changing needs of students and the school environment.
