Ortus Recruitment is currently working with a highly-regarded primary school in the London Borough of Lambeth that is seeking an experienced and passionate Classroom Assistant to join their team immediately. The school has received an ‘Outstanding’ rating from Ofsted and is dedicated to providing a high standard of education to all pupils, including those with Special Educational Needs (SEN).

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide support to pupils with SEN
• Collaborate with teachers and other school staff to ensure continuity of support for pupils
• Monitor and document student progress regularly
• Communicate effectively with parents and guardians to keep them informed of their child’s progress
• Attend regular meetings with school staff to discuss student progress and support strategies

Qualifications and Experience:

• A degree or relevant qualifications in Education, Maths, English, Sciences, Psychology, Drama, or Performing Arts or related field
• Strong understanding of working with children/ young people, e.g., Youth Work, Mentoring, Tutoring, Childcare, Voluntarily
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Must be able to undergo a full Enhanced DBS check
