Ortus recruitment is excited to announce that our client mainstream primary school based in West Norwood, are seeking for an experienced classroom assistant to support a KS2 class. Our partnered primary school is an ‘Outstanding’ Ofsted rated school and they need additional assistance to maintain the high standards of education being provided until the end of the academic year. The role is a full-time position, with typical working hours from 08:30am – 16:00pm, Monday – Friday (No weekends). This is an excellent opportunity to work in a mainstream primary school setting with supportive staff and would be perfect for candidates with childcare experience looking to start a career in education.

Requirements:

• A degree or relevant qualifications in Education, Maths, English, Sciences, Psychology, Drama, or Performing Arts or related field
• Strong understanding of working with children/ young people, e.g., Youth Work, Mentoring, Tutoring, Childcare, Voluntary experience…
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Must be able to undergo a full Enhanced DBS check
• Available to work Full-Time from Monday – Friday (08:30am – 16:00pm, Term Time Only)
