Classroom Assistant
A ‘Good’ Ofsted rated primary school based in Streatham is dedicated to providing an outstanding education for our students, including those with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) as well as students in their Resourced Provision. We are seeking a highly motivated and caring Teaching Assistant to join a professional and dedicated team on a full-time basis (Monday to Friday, 08:30am – 4pm).
As a Teaching Assistant our partnered primary school you will have the opportunity to work with students in our primary phase, either in mainstream classrooms or providing focused individual support, often on a one-to-one basis, for our Resourced Provision students. Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in creating a supportive and inclusive learning environment.
- Provide individualized support to students, adapting to their specific needs.
- Collaborate with teachers to implement effective teaching strategies.
- Promote positive behaviour and social development.
- Assist with planning and preparing educational resources.
- Encourage and motivate students to reach their full potential.
- Attend relevant training and professional development opportunities.
- Maintain accurate records of student progress and achievement.
Requirements:
- Minimum of GCSE Grade C/4 in English Language and Maths (or a recognized equivalent qualification).
- A degree or relevant qualifications in Education, Maths, English, Sciences, Psychology, Drama, or Performing Arts or related field
- A desire and passion to work with children, especially those with special educational needs.
- Experience working with young people in an education setting (preferred but not mandatory).
- Ability to communicate effectively and work as part of a team.
- Flexibility and adaptability to meet the diverse needs of our students.
- Any subject or specialism that may help match you to student needs.
