Ortus Recruitment is seeking a dedicated and proactive Classroom Assistant to join a dynamic primary school in Vauxhall. This is an excellent opportunity to be part of a forward-thinking team, playing a key role in supporting the development of young learners in a welcoming and inclusive school environment.

As a Classroom Assistant, you will provide vital support to the class teacher, helping to create a stimulating and nurturing learning environment for all pupils. Your role will involve assisting with daily activities that promote children’s social, emotional, and educational development. You will engage with pupils individually and in groups, ensuring that each child’s needs are met and that they are able to thrive academically and socially.

Key Responsibilities:

• Work closely with the class teacher to deliver engaging and age-appropriate activities
• Provide individual and group support to ensure that every child is progressing
• Foster a positive, inclusive, and safe classroom environment where all children feel valued
• Assist in the planning and preparation of learning resources and activities
• Maintain high standards of behaviour management to create a focused and effective learning space
• Communicate effectively with parents and carers to support each child’s development
• Help children with personal development, focusing on their social and emotional well-being

Requirements:

• A genuine passion for working with young children in an educational setting
• Strong communication skills with children and adults
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team, contributing to a supportive school environment
• Enthusiasm for creating an inclusive, positive classroom atmosphere
• Flexible, proactive approach to problem-solving and adapting to each child’s individual needs
• Available to work full-time (Monday – Friday, 08:30 – 16:00)
• Enhanced Child Workforce DBS on the Update Service (or willing to apply)
