Ortus Recruitment have an excellent opportunity in the London Borough of Wandsworth. We are searching for an experienced Classroom Assistant to start ASAP, working full-time in one of our partnered primary schools. This is a great opportunity for someone looking to grow in their career as a teaching assistant and making a difference in children’s lives.

Responsibilities:

• You will support the head teacher with planning daily activities.
• You will work 1:1 with children and small groups to help them learn and engage in the classroom.
• You will also support and care for the children with learning difficulties and SEN.
• You should also help the class teacher prepare the classroom for the lessons and help clean up after.
• You may also be asked to do admin activities such as photocopying, filing, displaying work, recording and reporting important notes.  
• You should also build relationships with the parents of the children to ensure good communication and a warm environment.   
• Most importantly you should look after the children’s health, safety, and wellbeing.

Requirements:

• Experience and comfortability working with SEN children.  
• Able to make good connections with teachers, children and parents.
• Sensitivity, patience and dedication when it comes to supporting the children.
• Flexibility when it comes to challenging environments.
• Kind, warm and friendly personality willing to go the extra mile to help the children and the head teacher.
• Committed to working hard with the children and head teacher.
