Job Summary:

• Pay: £80 – £95 per day, PAYE – No hidden agency/umbrella company fees

Here at Ortus Recruitment we are seeking a classroom practitioner to join one of our mainstream primary schools on a full time basis, throughout the academic year. The school is Ofsted rated ‘Good’ and they are seeking someone who is able to come in and hit the ground running by easily building positive rapports with both staff and students.

To be considered for this position, you must have:

• An Enhanced Child Workforce DBS on the update service or be willing to process one through Ortus Recruitment – £52
• Two obtainable childcare relevant references
• A minimum Grade C in GCSE English and Math

The ideal person for this role will be someone who:

• Has experience working alongside children in a relevant capacity. This includes Coaching, Nannying, Tutoring
• Has a ‘Can do’ attitude
• Is passionate about working alongside children and dedicated to helping them develop life skills
• Is able to hit the ground running, building positive rapports with both staff and students
• Will be able to start immediately, and commit to full time, long term work
• Will be willing to complete CPD courses and Teacher Training to progress their career

Within this role you will be required to work alongside the Class Teacher and support a Year 1 Class as a general Teaching Assistant. You will be required to work both 1:1 and lead small group interventions, this will include taking pupils out of class that need additional support in core subjects and working closely with them to help raise their attainment levels. You may also be required to assist the Class Teacher in undertaking administrative duties such as marking class/homework and signing reading diaries.
