Ortus Recruitment are working closely with a Primary School in Croydon, who are in need of a SEN Teaching Assistant to support a year 3 pupil with Downs Syndrome.

This school is situated in South Croydon, surrounded by excellent transportation links making commuting easy and stress free, they also have on site parking for anyone driving to and from the school site.

With a wonderful team of SLT and welcoming Teachers/Teaching Assistants, this opportunity would be perfect for anyone seeking a new full-time role in September, or for someone who is looking to kickstart their career in the Education sector!

As a 1:1 TA you will:

Work one-to-one with a pupil with Down syndrome

Assist the pupil in accessing the curriculum.

Assist the pupil in making progress academically, socially, and personally.

Get to know the pupil and learn how to support them further.

Work with the pupil and teacher to plan and put into action systems to help the pupil.

Support the classroom teacher and work in small groups completing learning activities set by the teacher.

The successful candidate:

Will be kind, passionate, and dedicated.

Will have an understanding of how to support children with Down Syndrome

Will have experience working within an educational setting.

Will have a good command of the English language.

Will have an understanding of how to support children with SEN.

Will have experience working with children with Down Syndrome.
