The team at Ortus Recruitment are looking for an experienced educator to prepare children for their future by supporting in their emotional, social and academic development. The schools we work with are Ofsted rated ‘Good‘ or ‘Outstanding‘, provide training and CPD courses to ensure career progression and offer consistent support and motivation. We are currently recruiting for a Early Years Assistant to join the team in a mainstream primary school in the London Borough of Brent.
This is the perfect opportunity for individuals with experience within the Early Years sector and good knowledge of the EYFS framework. The school prides itself on offering a diverse and inclusive environment for children of all backgrounds and abilities to thrive. Therefore they require someone who is willing to adhere to their ethos and values to ensure a positive impact on the children’s academic, social and emotional development.
This is a fantastic chance to be at the fore-front of children’s learning and development while being consistently aided and encouraged by the Senior Leadership Team and fellow staff members, with the potential to progress on to a Teacher Training programme if deemed an ideal candidate.
Responsibilities:
– Plan and implement age-appropriate activities and lessons for children in the early years
– Create a safe and nurturing environment for children to learn and grow
– Provide individualized attention and support to each child’s developmental needs
– Collaborate with parents and guardians to ensure open communication and involvement in their child’s education
– Monitor and assess children’s progress, documenting observations and maintaining records
– Foster social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development through play-based learning
– Encourage positive behaviour and teach essential life skills such as problem-solving, communication, and self-help skills
– Maintain a clean and organized classroom environment
Requirements:
– Minimum of 1 year of experience working with young children in an educational setting
– Familiarity with early childhood education principles, theories, and best practices
– Knowledge of child development stages and milestones
– Ability to create engaging lesson plans and activities that promote learning through play
– Strong communication skills to effectively interact with children, parents, and colleagues
– Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for working with young children
– Valid CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
– Educational qualifications in early childhood education or a related field is preferred
