Ortus Recruitment is working in partnership with a well-regarded mainstream primary school in Brixton that is looking to welcome an experienced Early Years Teaching Assistant to join their vibrant EYFS team.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a passionate and proactive individual with a strong background in early years education. The role will involve working flexibly across both the Nursery and Reception classes, supporting classroom routines, managing behaviour effectively, and providing assistance to pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN).

Key Responsibilities:

• Support the delivery of engaging, play-based learning activities tailored to EYFS pupils
• Assist with behaviour management strategies to ensure a calm and positive classroom environment
• Provide additional support to children with SEN, encouraging participation and development
• Work alongside teachers and early years practitioners to maintain a nurturing and inclusive space
• Observe and track pupil progress, offering feedback to the class teacher and SENCo as required

Ideal Candidate Profile:

• Previous experience working in an Early Years setting, ideally within a school environment
• Confident in managing group and individual behaviour in a gentle and consistent manner
• Knowledge of EYFS curriculum and child development milestones
• Flexible and adaptable, with the ability to work across both Nursery and Reception classes
• Relevant qualifications in Early Years or Childcare (Level 2/3 or equivalent) preferred
