Ortus Recruitment are liaising with a welcoming, inclusive Primary School situated in the London Borough of Barnet – a vibrant and diverse area with an abundance of shops, parks, cafes and transport links to ensure easy accessibility from door-to-door.

Early Years Teaching Assistant role:

• Be able to take initiative, be proactive and energetic
• Work alongside class teacher to manage classroom behaviour, keep classroom organised and liaise with parents/carers
• Support children with additional needs on a 1:1 basis
• Lead numeracy, phonics and literacy interventions in small groups to raise low attainment levels and reach set targets
• Confidently engage pupils with the EYFS curriculum

Main Expectations:

• 3+ months experience supporting SEN (desirable)
• Have a level 3 qualification, e.g. CACHE level 3 or a degree in a relevant subject e.g. psychology or education (desirable)
• Strong numeracy/literacy skills
• Knowledge of the EYFS curriculum (desirable)
• Must be able to provide: an enhanced DBS (or willing to apply for one through Ortus Recruitment), proof of Right to Work in the UK and 2 references
