Here at Ortus Recruitment we are seeking an experienced Behaviour Mentor to join one of our thriving Mainstream Primary Schools to work 1:1 with a pupil in year 4 who has challenging behaviour. The school are looking for someone with proven experience managing challenging behaviour, either hands on experience (Ideal) or qualifications through CPD courses.

This is Primary School is located in the London Borough of Lewisham, Grove Park, they boast a large school site, with parking and plenty of outdoor space for the pupils. It is an easy commute to this school as it is located next to a popular London Underground Station, as well as being in close proximity to a range of bus stops.

The Job Summary:

• Pay: £90 – £100 per day, PAYE – No hidden agency/umbrella company fees
• Role: Immediate start, full time, long term, Monday – Friday (08:30 – 16:00)

We are seeking someone who has experience working alongside children and/or vulnerable adults/young people. The ideal candidate will be someone who is patient and resilient, able to think quick on their feet and are able to display quick problem solving skills. We need the ideal candidate to be passionate about working alongside children, and dedicated to ensuring they are receiving the necessary support. You will need to have a strong academic background, educated to degree level or equivalent, you must have minimum Grade C in English and Math.

The main responsibilities within this role:

• You will be working 1:1 with a pupil in Year 4, helping to manage behaviour and encourage them to engage in learning
• You may need to take the pupil out of class and work in a 1:1 space if the student is heightened, or distracted in class
• You will need to liaise with the Class Teacher, SENCO and the Parents/Carers to provide feedback on the pupils academic and behavioural progress
• You will need to ensure the safety and wellbeing of pupils at all times
• You will need to ensure you are correctly following the school policies, namely the safeguarding and behaviour policies
