Here at Ortus Recruitment we are seeking an experienced EYFS (Early Years Foundation Stage) Teaching Assistant to join one of our vibrant Mainstream Primary Schools, but work within the Nursery Unit on a full time, long term basis, with an immediate start. The school is Ofsted rated ‘Outstanding’ and are seeking someone who can hit the ground running by easily building a positive rapport with both staff and pupils.

The job information:

• Position: Experienced EYFS Teaching Assistant
• Pay: £85 – £100 per day, PAYE – No hidden agency/umbrella company fees
• Location: Southwark, Camberwell
• Role: Full time, Long term (Monday – Friday, 08:30 – 16:00)

Within this role the successful candidate will be responsible for assisting the Class Teacher in supporting a Nursery class. You will be required to assist with behaviour management within the class, assisting the pupils with activities and tasks as well as snack time and nap time. You will be required to prepare the fruit and milk whilst the teacher is leading a lesson, and then hand out the snacks and ensure the safety and wellbeing of the pupils whilst consuming them. You will also be required to supervise and escort the pupils through the school building, maintaining calm behaviour whilst moving through the corridors, to the playground and lunch hall .

Requirements:

• You must have experience working in an EYFS setting, either mainstream or SEN (Transferrable experience welcome, nannying)
• You must have experience managing challenging behaviour and/or working alongside SEN learners
• You must be passionate about working alongside children and dedicated to aiding their development
• You must have a natural kind and nurturing nature
• You must have TWO obtainable childcare relevant references
• You must have a clear Enhanced Child Workforce DBS on the Update Service or be willing to process one through Ortus Recruitment
