· Position: Experienced Teaching Assistant

· Pay: £80 – £95 per day, PAYE – No hidden Agency/Umbrella company fees

· Location: Southwark, Bermondsey

· Role: Full time, Long term (Monday – Friday, 08:30 – 16:00)

We have an excellent opportunity here at Ortus Recruitment, we are seeking an experienced Teaching Assistant to join one of our vibrant mainstream Primary Schools, on an immediate, full time, long term basis.

The school are seeking someone who can hit the ground running and maintain the positive working relationship with staff. The school is Ofsted rated ‘Outstanding’ and they pride themselves on the impressive academic attainment levels of their pupils. The school is located in the London Borough of Southwark, Bermondsey, and it is in close proximity to a popular London underground station, as well as several bus stops which makes commuting fairly easy.

The ideal candidate for this role will:

· Have experience working as a Teaching Assistant in a classroom setting

· Have experience working alongside both mainstream and SEN learners

· Be able to follow instructions effectively but also be able to work off of your own initiative

· Be able to easily build a positive rapport with both pupils and staff

· Have a good understanding of safeguarding children in education

· Have a good knowledge of the British curriculum

· Have a strong academic background, educated to degree level or equivalent

· Have TWO obtainable, childcare relevant references

· Have a clear Enhanced Child Workforce DBS on the Update Service or be willing to process one through Ortus Recruitment – £52

Main Responsibilities within this role:

· Assist the Class Teacher in supporting a Year 5 class with their activities and classwork

· Work alongside the Class Teacher and ensure the pupils are receiving the necessary support

· Supervise the pupils in and around the school building, in the corridors, the lunch hall and the playground

· Undertake administrative duties such as updating display boards, marking classwork/ homework

· Liaising with Parents/Carers, providing feedback and pupil progress
