Job Description:
We are looking for a passionate and nurturing EYFS (Early Years Foundation Stage) Teaching Assistant to join a friendly and inclusive primary school in Ealing. As an EYFS TA, you will work closely with the class teacher to support the learning and development of children in the Foundation Stage, helping to create a stimulating and safe environment where every child can thrive.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the class teacher in delivering engaging and age-appropriate activities in line with the EYFS framework, focusing on personal, social, emotional, and academic development.
- Provide 1:1 and small group support to children, ensuring individual needs are met and that all children can access the curriculum.
- Foster a positive and inclusive atmosphere, helping to build children’s confidence, independence, and social skills.
- Support the physical care of young children, including feeding, changing, and encouraging good hygiene practices.
- Observe and monitor children’s progress, keeping records of their development and providing feedback to the class teacher and parents as needed.
- Assist with the preparation of learning materials, classroom displays, and resources to enhance the children’s learning environment.
- Encourage positive behaviour, manage minor conflicts, and help children learn essential social skills.
- Work collaboratively with the class teacher, SENCo, and other staff to support children with Special Educational Needs (SEN) or additional learning needs.
- Participate in training and development opportunities to ensure your knowledge of the EYFS framework and childcare best practices remain up to date.
Person Specification:
- Qualifications: Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent is highly desirable.
- Experience: Previous experience working with young children in an EYFS setting, including supporting children with SEN or additional needs.
- Skills:
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work well as part of a team.
- Patience, empathy, and the ability to build strong relationships with young children.
- Creativity and the ability to deliver fun and engaging learning activities.
- Good understanding of child safeguarding and welfare practices.
