Ortus Recruitment are seeking a dedicated EYFS Teaching Assistant to support young children in their early learning journey. The successful candidate will work closely with the head teacher, assisting with classroom activities and supporting pupils’ development. This role is ideal for someone passionate about early years education and helping children thrive.

Requirements:
• A strong commitment to supporting children’s emotional, social, and mental development.
• Experience working with pupils with SEN (preferred).
• Ability to build positive relationships with teachers, children, and parents.
• Previous experience working with children.
• Patience, empathy, and dedication when supporting young learners.

We welcome applicants with relevant degrees or childcare/education qualifications.

Key Responsibilities:
• Assist the head teacher in planning and organising daily activities.
• Provide 1:1 and small-group support to help pupils engage and progress.
• Support children with learning difficulties and those displaying challenging behaviours.
• Help set up the classroom for lessons and ensure it is tidy afterwards.
• Carry out administrative duties such as photocopying, filing, creating displays, and recording key information for staff and parents.
• Build strong relationships with parents to maintain a warm, communicative environment.
• Safeguard children’s wellbeing by maintaining a safe classroom and ensuring hazardous items are kept out of reach.
• Communicate effectively with pupils, teachers, and parents.
• Manage multiple tasks while staying attentive to the needs of the children and the head teacher.
