Ortus Recruitment are looking for a confident and motivated individual to take on the role of classroom teaching assistant in Early Years Foundation Stage – Reception at our partnered school based in Streatham. Hours of work, 08.30am – 4.00pm Monday – Friday.

Our priority is to recruit staff who are ambitious for, yet sensitive to the needs of children, whatever their starting points.

The applicant will have:

• experience and knowledge of how young children learn
• excellent communication skills
• experience of teaching phonics
• the ability to use their own initiative to support the individual needs of children
• the ability to develop positive and supportive relationships with children and their families
• the ability to support the speech and language progress of children from various stages of development
• an understanding of how to support children’s writing
• an understanding of supporting a range of additional needs within the classroom the skills to be an excellent team player
• an understanding of the Early years Foundation Stage
