Ortus Recruitment is currently looking for an experienced Classroom Assistant to join our partnered mainstream primary school in Southgate, London Borough of Enfield. As a Classroom Assistant, you will support the teacher in creating a positive and stimulating learning environment for the children. The primary school has a very good senior leadership team and a very supportive inclusion manager, who you will be working with closely and the school is looking for a candidate.

Responsibilities:

• Assist the teacher in planning and delivering lessons
• Help children with their work, providing one-to-one support when needed
• Manage the classroom environment, ensuring it is safe, tidy, and organised
• Encourage and motivate children to participate in classroom activities
• Support children with additional needs, including those with SEN or EAL
• Liaise with parents and carers to ensure they are kept informed about their child’s progress

Requirements:

• A minimum of 6 months experience working with children, preferably in a school setting
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
• Level 3 qualification or higher
• A positive and enthusiastic approach to working with children
• A Enhanced DBS
