Look no further! Ortus Recruitment is working with a successful and highly regarded mainstream primary school in based in Clapham, who currently seek a dedicated and enthusiastic General Teaching Assistant to support a Year 3/4 class in September.

Position Overview: As a General Teaching Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting our teachers and students throughout the academic year. Your responsibilities will include assisting in classroom management, delivering targeted interventions, providing one-on-one support to students, and helping to create a nurturing and inclusive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with teachers to deliver engaging and interactive lessons.
• Assist in managing classroom behaviour and maintaining a positive learning environment.
• Provide one-on-one support to students with their academic and social development.
• Prepare and organise teaching materials, resources, and displays.
• Assist with assessments, record-keeping, and student progress tracking.
• Contribute to the planning and delivery of educational activities and outings.
• Support students with special educational needs or individual learning plans.

Requirements:

• Recent graduate of core subject or relevant qualifications for working with children
• Previous experience as a General Teaching Assistant, 1:1 Teaching Assistant or Behaviour Mentor is highly desirable.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills to engage effectively with students, teachers, and parents.
• Knowledge of primary school curriculum and teaching methodologies.
• Patience, empathy, and the ability to build positive relationships with students.
• Flexibility and adaptability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
• A genuine passion for education and the desire to make a difference in children’s lives.
