Here at Ortus Recruitment we are seeking an experienced Learning Support Assistant to join one of our Mainstream Primary Schools located in the London Borough of Southwark, Peckham. The school is Ofsted rated ‘Outstanding’ and they are looking for someone who can come in and hit the ground running, making a positive impact around the school as well as building positive rapports with both staff and students.

To be considered for this role, you must have:

• A clear enhanced Child Workforce DBS on the update service or be willing to process one through Ortus Recruitment – £52
• Two obtainable childcare relevant references
• A minimum Grade C in GCSE English

What we need from you:

• Experience working alongside children in a school based setting, we will also accept childcare relevant experience (coaching, nannying, tutoring and youth work)
• A ‘Can do’ attitude
• Passionate about working alongside children, dedicated to aiding their academic attainment levels
• Will be able to easily build a rapport with staff and students

Within this role:

You will be required to assist the class teacher in supporting a year 6 class who are preparing for their SATS. You will be working as a General Teaching Assistant supporting children across the class with their classwork and activities. You will be required to supervise the pupils in the lunch hall and playground, promoting good behaviour. You will be required to liaise with the class teacher, SENCO, and the parents/carers to provide feedback on pupils’ progress.
