Ortus recruitment are looking for an individual that is athletic, kind, bubbly and empathetic who is ready to make a different in children’s lives and also advance in their career in the education sector.

Graduate Classroom Assistant Key Responsibilities:

• Assist the classroom teacher in planning and delivering lessons
• Engage in 1:1 and group session with children
• Help children with their homework or class tasks
• Set up and clean the classroom throughout the day
• Support children with their physical, mental, emotional and social health.
• Support SEN children.
• Proactively plan and create new activities that could help the teacher with engaging the children in an academic and personal sense.

Requirements:

• Experience working with children in a classroom setting preferred (3-6 months)
• Experience working with SEN children (preferred)
• Passion for working with students with diverse needs
• Ability to work flexibly and adapt to difficult situations and behaviours
• Able to foster a positive and friendly environment for the children
• Able to make good connections with people from all walks of life (parents, children, teachers)
