Ortus Recruitment is excited to partner with a thriving primary school near Waterloo, who are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Graduate Classroom Assistant to support a pupil in Key Stage 2 with ADHD and behavioural issues. About the Role
As a Graduate Teaching Assistant, you will provide 1:1 support to a pupil in Key Stage 2, assisting with their academic, social, and emotional development. The pupil you will support has ADHD and behavioural challenges, and you will work closely with the class teacher to help implement strategies that will support the pupil’s learning and behaviour.

This full-time role is ideal for a recent graduate looking to pursue a career in teaching. You will receive excellent support from the school’s experienced staff, who will mentor and guide you in building your skills and knowledge in preparation for applying for a Teacher Training programme in the future.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide tailored 1:1 support to a pupil with ADHD and behavioural issues in Key Stage 2.
• Assist in creating and implementing strategies to improve the pupil’s learning experience and behaviour management.
• Support the class teacher in delivering engaging and effective lessons.
• Help monitor and record progress, ensuring that interventions are in place to support the pupil’s development.
• Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment.
• Collaborate with the wider school team to ensure the pupil’s needs are met both academically and socially.

• A recent graduate (undergraduate degree required).
• Excellent numeracy and literacy skills to support learning.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to build rapport with students and staff.
• Experience or a genuine interest in working with children with ADHD and behavioural issues (desirable).

• A full-time, immediate start position with working hours from 08:30am to 4:00pm, Monday to Friday.
• Competitive daily pay rate of £89 – £105 per day (PAYE), based on your qualifications and experience.
