Ortus recruitment are seeking for a Graduate Learning Support Assistant to support a primary school based in Lambeth. The Primary school is a Mainstream school with a ‘Good’ Ofsted report, and they are now seeking a graduate, who has experience working with children in a professional environment.

The Role:

The role will require you to work closely with the class teacher and liaise with the SENDCO as you will be providing one-to-one support to you key child in a mainstream classroom setting. The successful candidate will also be require to implement your key child’s individualized education plans in order to help them succeed. Other duties in the classroom will consist helping the class teacher to prepare materials needed for teaching and assisting with the management of the classroom behaviour.

Qualifications and Experience:

• A degree or relevant qualifications in Education, Maths, English, Sciences, Psychology, Drama, or Performing Arts or related field
• Strong understanding of working with children/ young people, e.g., Youth Work, Mentoring, Tutoring, Childcare, Voluntarily
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Must be able to undergo a full Enhanced DBS check
