A dynamic and diverse primary school based in the heart of Tooting are seeking a hardworking and enthusiastic Graduate Teaching Assistant to join them in working with SEN students across all years on a 1:1 basis and in small groups. The school is keen to meet graduates who seek a career in Education, wanting to gain classroom experience.

The role:

• Supporting SEN students on a 1:1 basis and in small groups in lessons, encouraging them to reach their true potential
• Assisting the classroom teacher, setting out the required resources for the lesson
• Monitoring the pupil’s academic progress, ensuring that they are meeting or exceeding their targets
• Working closely with the class teacher, SENCO and SLT, reporting student’s progress and discuss strategies tailored to their needs
• Managing student behaviour and provide emotional support

What we are looking for in Graduate SEN Teaching Assistants:

• Graduates with previous experience working in schools (paid or voluntary), tutoring or in a similar setting
• Enthusiastic and positive who is keen to make a difference to young peoples’ lives
• Demonstrate excellent literacy and numeracy skills
• Be a great team player and work well with other staff and professionals

Requirements:

• Hold a degree in any core subject
• Possess an Enhanced Child Workforce DBS on the Update Service or be willing to apply for one (full guidance will be provided)
• two most recent childcare references
• Happy to go through the simple registration and vetting process with us
