Position: Year 6, Teaching Assistant
Location: Lampton, London Borough of Hounslow TW5
Schedule: Full-Time, Long-Term (Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM to 3:30 PM)
Salary: £425 – £475 per week (PAYE, NO Umbrella Deductions) Depending on experience

Ortus Recruitment is pleased to collaborate with mainstream Primary School, an Ofsted Outstanding mainstream school located just a 10-minute walk from East Hounslow Station, with excellent transport links. The school is currently seeking a committed Teaching Assistant to support Year 6 pupils, with a focus on raising attainment and providing general classroom assistance.

As a dedicated general teaching assistant, your role will involve working closely with the class teacher to support pupils in their learning, particularly in core subjects like English and Maths, helping to bridge gaps in knowledge and enhance academic progress. You will also contribute to creating a positive and inclusive classroom environment, where all children feel supported and motivated to achieve their potential.

We are looking for a compassionate and proactive individual, ideally with experience in helping students manage their behaviour and develop effective coping strategies. Your contribution will be instrumental in fostering both academic and emotional growth, ensuring that each pupil in Year 6 has the support needed to succeed.

For the Year 6 Teaching Assistant role, the following experience and qualifications are required:

  • Experience in supporting children in an academic setting: Particularly focused on raising attainment and working with children to close gaps in learning, particularly in English and Maths.
  • Classroom support experience: Previous experience in assisting teachers with general classroom duties and providing one-to-one or small group support to help pupils achieve their academic potential.
  • Behaviour management skills: The ability to implement positive behaviour strategies to support pupils in managing their conduct and promoting a productive learning environment.
  • Experience in KS2 settings: Familiarity with the KS2 curriculum, especially with Year 6 pupils preparing for SATs, is highly beneficial.
