Here at Ortus Recruitment, we are seeking a University Graduate to join one of our lovely mainstream primary schools on a Full time, Long term basis with an immediate start.

The Job Role:

• Position: Graduate Teaching Assistant
• Pay: £80 – £100 per day
• Location: Southwark, Bermondsey
• Role: Full time, Long term

The primary school is located in the London Borough of Southwark. The school are looking to hold interviews and trials immediately. The successful candidate will need to be able to commit to full time, long term; Monday – Friday, 08:30 – 16:00. The school are Ofsted rated ‘Good’ and are looking to add a new staff member to their already thriving staff team. The school boasts great academic attainment levels across the board and have a warm and welcoming environment. Feedback from previous staff in the school states that the school has a great working environment amongst staff.

The ideal candidate:

• Passionate about working in the education industry alongside pupils in a school setting
• Experience working alongside children or vulnerable adults/young people, in a care, residential, School or Social setting
• Will be educated to degree level with a minimum 2:2 in a relevant degree
• Will be confident working 1:1 and leading small group interventions in core subjects (English, Math, Reading and Science)
• Will have the ability to promote positive emotional, social and personal development

Within this role, the successful candidate will be responsible for working alongside a class teacher and other support staff within a year 3 class. The school are looking for a proactive candidate who is able to follow instructions as well as have the ability to work off of their own initiative. You will be required to assist the class teacher in preparing and setting out activities and tasks for the pupils to complete as well as assisting them in completing said tasks. You will be responsible for supervising the children in the lunch hall and in the playground ensuring a safe working environment. The successful candidate will be required to undertake administrative duties such as marking work and photocopying/laminating work.
