Higher Learning Teaching Assistant

Ortus Recruitment is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join a number of partnered mainstream primary schools across the South West London. This exciting opportunity offers you the chance to support the inclusion hub in delivering outstanding education to pupils, as well as covering the class when required. These schools have received excellent Ofsted ratings and provide a fantastic working environment, making this the perfect role for a qualified HLTA looking to join a new school or secure a permanent position in a supportive primary setting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with class teachers and specialist teachers to create a stimulating and inclusive learning environment.
  • Prepare classrooms and learning resources to support various teaching activities.
  • Provide individual and group support to students, assisting in their learning and development.
  • Actively participate in assessing and monitoring students’ progress to ensure all pupils are achieving their potential.
  • Engage in all aspects of school life, including assemblies, sports, music, drama, and after-school enrichment programs.
  • Work collaboratively with the school staff to meet both educational and social goals.
  • Attend staff meetings and participate in professional development and training days to enhance your skills.
  • Run before or after-school enrichment sessions for students, promoting a well-rounded education.
  • Contribute to key school events such as fairs and evening functions.

Requirements:

  • A qualified Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) or relevant experience in a similar role.
  • Passionate about creating a positive, engaging, and stimulating learning environment.
  • Strong ability to work effectively with children both individually and in group settings.
  • A commitment to participating in all aspects of school life and contributing to the wider school community.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a proactive approach to working within a team.
