Ortus Recruitment is currently seeking an enthusiastic and inspirational Higher Level Teaching Assistant to support our partnered mainstream primary school located in Brixton. This is an exciting opportunity to support class teachers (KS2) in delivering outstanding education to our pupils as well as covering the class when required. Our partnered primary school has an ‘Outstanding’ Ofsted rating and this would be the perfect opportunity for a qualified HLTA who is looking to change schools or looking for the opportunity to secure a role within a primary school.

Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with class teachers and specialist teachers to create a happy and stimulating learning environment
• Prepare classrooms and learning materials to support teaching activities
• Provide individual and group support to students, assisting in their learning and development
• Actively participate in assessing and monitoring students’ progress
• Engage in all aspects of school life, including assemblies, break times, lunchtimes, story times, sports, music, drama, and after-school enrichment programs
• Work collaboratively with school staff to achieve educational and other goals
• Attend staff meetings and participate in professional development and training days
• Run before or after-school enrichment sessions for students
• Contribute to official school events, including fairs and evening events

Requirements:

• Qualified Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) or relevant experience in a similar role
• Passionate about creating a happy and stimulating learning environment
• Ability to work effectively with children individually and in groups
• Commitment to actively participate in all aspects of school life
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
