Ortus Recruitment is working with a high-achieving and inclusive primary school in Clapham that is seeking a full-time Intervention Teaching Assistant to support pupils across Key Stage 2. This role focuses on raising attainment through targeted literacy and numeracy intervention sessions, working closely with the SENCO and class teachers.

Key Responsibilities:

• Plan and deliver small-group and 1:1 interventions in reading, writing, and maths
• Support pupils who are below age-related expectations or at risk of falling behind
• Track and report progress in line with school assessment procedures
• Liaise with teachers to identify gaps and adapt intervention strategies accordingly
• Help create and maintain a structured, motivating learning environment

Ideal Candidate:

• Experience delivering academic interventions at primary level, particularly in KS2
• Strong literacy and numeracy skills (GCSE English and Maths or equivalent essential)
• Confident working independently with small groups
• Positive and proactive approach to learning support
• Understanding of safeguarding and inclusive practice
