KS1 Learning Support Assistant
The team at Ortus Recruitment work in collaboration with Primary/SEN schools and bring them together with individuals looking for opportunities in the education sector. We are dedicated to providing specialised and ongoing support to educators looking for full-time and long-term roles within schools in their local area. We work with a number of schools, all rated ‘Good‘ or ‘Outstanding‘ by Ofsted, with supportive senior leadership teams and opportunities for further career progression.

Learning Support Assistant Responsibilities:
– Provide support and assistance to individuals with special needs, particularly those with autism
– Assist in implementing individualized programs and strategies to promote the development and independence of individuals
– Support individuals in daily activities, including personal care, mealtime, and recreational activities
– Foster a safe and inclusive environment for individuals to learn and grow
– Collaborate with a team of professionals to ensure the well-being and progress of individuals
– Communicate effectively with individuals, their families, and other team members
Learning Support Assistant Expectations:
– Experience working with children or individuals with special needs, particularly those with autism
– Knowledge of special education principles and practices
– Ability to provide care and support in a compassionate and patient manner
– Strong communication skills to effectively interact with individuals, families, and team members
– Ability to adapt to changing situations and handle challenging behaviours
– High level of empathy, understanding, and patience
