Our client, a primary school, is seeking a talented Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant (SEN TA) to join one of their mainstream classes. In this role, you will work one-on-one with a child who has Autism, providing the necessary support to aid in their development. The school, which has four forms per entry year, boasts a highly supportive staff eager to welcome a new team member.
What We Are Looking For:
- Experience in Key Stage 1 (KS1): Candidates should have prior experience working within a learning environment at the KS1 level.
- Experience with Additional and Complex Needs: It is important to have experience working with children who have additional and complex needs.
- Knowledge of Relevant Strategies: A working knowledge of strategies pertinent to the appropriate curriculum or learning area is essential.
- Understanding of Classroom Roles and Responsibilities: An understanding of the various roles and responsibilities within a classroom setting is crucial.
- Background in Relevant Fields: A background in Education, Care, Psychology, or Drama is highly beneficial as these fields provide transferable skills for this role.
- Training or Experience in Non-Verbal Communication: While training or experience in non-verbal communication methods such as Makaton or PECS is preferred, a willingness to learn these skills is essential.
Details about Early Years Role:
- Mon-Fri, 8:30am – 3:30pm
- No weekends
- £425-£525 per week (PAYE) Depending on experience
