The school is looking for an assertive and experienced Teaching Assistant to support in KS1 with a non-verbal child that has ASD and exhibits challenging behaviours.

**Candidates must be able to commit to a long-term and full-time role (Monday – Friday, 8:00am – 3:30pm)**

The role:

• Work on a 1:1 basis with a non-verbal child with ASD and challenging behaviour
• In a general capacity, work alongside class teacher to manage classroom behaviour, keep classroom organised and liaise with parents/carers
• Lead numeracy, literacy and reading interventions in small groups to raise low attainment levels and reach set targets

Main Expectations:

• Minimum 2:2 degree in a relevant subject e.g. English, Maths, Psychology
• Strong numeracy/literacy/communication skills
• Experience working with SEN children
• Knowledge of the KS1 curriculum
• Must be able to provide: an enhanced DBS (or willing to apply for one through Ortus Recruitment), proof of Right to Work in the UK and 2 references
