Are you an experienced LSA or SEN Teaching Assistant looking for the opportunity to support children with special educational needs?

Ortus Recruitment are looking for a dedicated and proactive Teaching Assistant to join the KS1 team in one of our partner schools situated in Edgware with a ‘Good‘ Ofsted rating.

The ideal candidate will build excellent rapports with staff and pupils, you will motivate them to reach targets and raise attainment while promoting a safe and inclusive environment for development to thrive.

The successful individual will:

• Be assertive, patient and motivating
• Manage behaviour effectively
• Promote positive social, emotional and personal development
• Work with and support pupils on a 1:1 basis
• Lead numeracy and literacy interventions in small groups
• Engage pupils with KS1 curriculum regardless of background and ability

Main Expectations:

• 3-6 months experience working with SEN children
• Minimum 2:2 grade in relevant degree or Cache Level 3 qualification (desirable)
• Competent numeracy/literacy skills
• Must be able to provide: an enhanced DBS (or willing to apply for one through Ortus Recruitment), proof of Right to Work in the UK and 2 references
