KS1 Teaching Assistant | Brent

This is a mainstream, Ofsted-rated ‘Good’ Primary School located in London Borough of Brent – a dynamic and diverse area with an abundance of underground tube links and bus routes within walking distance of the school to ensure easy accessibility including Queens Park station.
This is a fantastic opportunity to be involved in the learning and development of children by confidently leading maths and literacy interventions in small groups and working on a 1:1 basis to support children with SEN.
You will be consistently aided and encouraged by the Senior Leadership Team and fellow staff members, with the potential to progress on to a Teacher Training programme if deemed an ideal candidate.
KS1 Teaching Assistant role:
- Have a nurturing and patient approach to teaching
- Leading 1:1 and small group interventions i.e. numeracy, phonics and literacy
- Encourage participation from SEN pupil and support them where necessary
- Strong communication skills to liaise with parents and assist class teacher effectively
- Engage students confidently with the curriculum and help them raise attainment
Main Expectations:
- 3+ months experience supporting SEN (desirable)
- Have a level 3 qualification, e.g. CACHE level 3 or a degree in a relevant subject e.g. psychology or education (desirable)
- Strong numeracy/literacy skills
- Must be able to provide: an enhanced DBS (or willing to apply for one through Ortus Recruitment), proof of Right to Work in the UK and 2 references
