The Job Information:

• Position: Learning Mentor
• Pay: £80 – £100 per day, PAYE – No hidden agency/umbrella company fees
• Location: Blackheath
• Role: Full time, Long term, Monday – Friday (08:30 – 16:00)

Here at Ortus Recruitment we are seeking an experienced Learning Mentor to join one of our thriving Mainstream Primary Schools on an immediate, long term, full time basis. The school is located within close proximity to a number of London Underground Stations, and it is located around several bus stops, which makes commuting easy. The school are Ofsted rated ‘Outstanding’ and pride themselves on their diverse and inclusive working environment for pupils as well as their positive working relationship amongst staff.

Within this role you will be required to work across KS2 (Year 3 – Year 6) liaising with Class Teachers to identify which pupils need additional support in core subjects. You will need to assist the class teacher in preparing and delivering differentiated work that suits each individual learners needs. You will be responsible for collecting pupils from class, and escorting them to the library where you will be required to support them. You will be required to support up to 6 pupils at a time, ensuring they are engaged with learning and are receiving the necessary support. You will need to be able to feedback pupil progress to the class teachers and the parents/carers.

The Requirements:

• You must be educated to degree level or equivalent (desired, not essential). You must have minimum Grade C in GCSE English and Math or equivalent
• You must be able to start immediately and commit to full time, long term work ongoing into September 2023
• You must have a ‘Can do’ attitude
• You must be passionate about working with children and dedicated to aiding their academic and behavioural development
• Must have two obtainable childcare relevant references
• Must have a clear Enhanced Child Workforce DBS on the update service or be willing to process one through Ortus Recruitment – £52
