Learning Support Assistant
Ortus Recruitment is excited to present a fantastic opportunity for a passionate and dedicated Learning Support Assistant to join a thriving primary school in Wandsworth Common. The successful candidate will play an integral role in supporting the behaviour, communication, social, and emotional development of children throughout the school. You will work closely with Teachers and the Inclusion Leader, providing both in-class and external support to help children thrive.
Key Responsibilities:
- Delivering interventions in small groups or one-to-one settings to support academic progress
- Providing behavioural and pastoral support as a trained ELSA (Emotional Literacy Support Assistant) and Thrive Practitioner
- Assisting with safeguarding responsibilities as a trained DDSL (Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead), responding to individual pupil needs and concerns
- Working collaboratively with teachers to ensure pupils’ holistic development is supported both in and outside the classroom
What We’re Looking For:
- Experience in a similar role or working within a primary school setting is preferred, but we also welcome applications from candidates with a background in supporting young children in different contexts
- Passion for providing inclusion and pastoral support to pupils
- A proactive, compassionate approach to pupil welfare and development
- Ability to collaborate effectively with teachers, leadership, and support staff
