Learning Support Assistant | 1:1 ADHD | Year 3 | Brent
The team at Ortus Recruitment are looking for an experienced educator to prepare children for their future by supporting in their emotional, social and academic development. The schools we work with are Ofsted rated ‘Good‘ or ‘Outstanding‘, provide training and CPD courses to ensure career progression and offer consistent support and motivation. We are currently recruiting for a KS2 Teaching Assistant to join the team in a mainstream primary school in Kensal Green, Brent.
This role will require the Learning Support Assistant to work alongside the classroom teacher and SENCo, to provide additional 1:1 support to a SEN pupil. There is no diagnosis however the pupil shows signs and traits associated with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder. You will be responsible for providing a safe and stimulating environment for the pupil to thrive, maintaining his focus on work, managing his behaviour effectively and building a positive and trusting relationship with him. There is no severe behavioural difficulties involved however when he feels overwhelmed he may act out, so it will be your responsibility to put interventions in place to deter this from happening.
Year 3 Learning Support Assistant Requirements:
-Bachelor’s degree in Education or related qualification
-Experience working with ADHD
-Firm but fair approach
-Behaviour management experience
-Strong communication and interpersonal skills
-Ability to create a positive and inclusive classroom environment
-Knowledge of current educational trends and best practices
