Learning Support Assistant
Ortus Recruitment is seeking a dedicated and experienced Learning Support Assistant to join our partnered mainstream primary school in Southfields. This full-time role (8:30am – 4:00pm) offers a fantastic opportunity to work closely with students, providing tailored intervention support and one-to-one assistance for both underachieving and high-performing pupils. The position involves collaborating with the class teacher to plan and implement strategies, while also supporting children with additional needs.
Location: Southfields
Pay: £85 – £100 per day (subject to regular performance reviews)
In this position, you will be a vital part of a team focused on enhancing student outcomes and contributing to the overall learning environment. You’ll need to be adaptable and confident in providing support to students with varying needs, including those with special educational requirements. Your previous experience as a Tutor, Teaching Assistant, Learning Support Assistant, or from a background such as Youth Work, Social Care, or Creative Industries will be highly valued.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support students through targeted intervention and one-to-one sessions
- Work alongside the class teacher to deliver effective strategies that support both academic and personal development
- Adapt to the diverse learning needs of students, including those with additional learning difficulties
- Foster a positive learning environment and encourage student engagement in all activities
- Communicate effectively with both students and staff, demonstrating a commitment to teamwork and collaboration
