Learning Support Assistant

Join a passionate team at a resource base within a mainstream primary school in Roehampton, supporting a pupil with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). This is a fantastic opportunity for a Learning Support Assistant with experience in SEN to make a difference.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide tailored support for a pupil with ASD, helping them to engage with learning activities.
  • Collaborate with teachers and SENCO to implement individual learning plans.
  • Offer emotional and social support to ensure the pupil feels safe and included.
  • Adapt classroom resources to meet the needs of the pupil and provide clear structure throughout the day.

Requirements:

  • Experience working with children with ASD or SEN in an educational setting.
  • Patience, empathy, and an understanding of the challenges faced by children with ASD.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to build trust with pupils and staff.
  • A proactive and flexible approach to support.
