About the Role

As a Learning Support Assistant, you will:

• Provide 1:1 support to a KS2 pupil with SEMH needs, helping them engage positively in learning
• Build strong, trusting relationships with pupils and staff
• Use effective behaviour support strategies to guide pupils with challenging behaviours
• Contribute to a nurturing and encouraging school culture that prioritises core skills and personal growth
• Work collaboratively with teachers, pastoral staff and SEN teams

What We’re Looking For

We welcome applicants who have:

• Previous experience supporting SEMH pupils or working with challenging behaviours
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Knowledge of intervention and de-escalation strategies (e.g., PRICE, MAPA, Team Teach) — desirable but not essential
• Backgrounds in Youth Work, Behaviour Support, Social Work, Sports Coaching, or degrees such as Psychology, Education, English, Maths or Science
• Confidence working with autism and the ability to adapt quickly to new situations
• A flexible, committed, and proactive approach
