The Job Information:

• Position: Learning Support Assistant
• Pay: £85 – £100 per day, PAYE – No hidden Agency/Umbrella company fees
• Location: Southwark, Bermondsey
• Role: Full time, Long term, Monday – Friday (08:30 – 16:00)

Here at Ortus Recruitment we are seeking an experienced Learning Support Assistant to join one of our Mainstream Primary Schools on a full time, long term basis, with an immediate start. The school are Ofsted rated ‘Outstanding’ and are seeking someone who can come in and hit the ground running, building positive rapports with bath staff and students.

The Requirements:

• Must have experience working alongside children in a school setting
• Must have a ‘can do’ attitude and be dedicated to aiding the academic and behavioural development of learners
• Must have a natural kind and nurturing nature
• Must be passionate about working alongside children
• Must be able to commit to full time, long term work and start immediately
• Must have TWO obtainable childcare relevant references
• Must have a clear Enhanced Child Workforce DBS on the update service or be willing to process one through Ortus Recruitment – £52

Main responsibilities within this role:

• You will be required to work alongside the Class Teacher and support pupils in a mainstream year 5 class
• You will be tasked with assisting the Class Teacher with administrative duties such as updating class display boards, marking work and photocopying/laminating
• You will need to work closely with learners where necessary, 1:1 and in small groups, delivering interventions on core subjects
• You will need to supervise the children in the classroom and around the school building, including the lunch hall and the playground
• You will be required to ensure the safety and wellbeing of pupils at all times
