Here at ORTUS RECRUITMENT we are seeking an experienced Learning Support Assistant to join one of our thriving Mainstream Primary Schools located in the London Borough of Lewisham, Brockley. This school are Ofsted rated ‘Outstanding’ and prioritise their positive working relationship amongst staff and as well as a positive working environment for pupils. The school is located in close proximity to multiple transport links such as a popular London Underground train station and bus stops.

This role is a Full time, Long term position (Monday – Friday, 08:30 – 16:00), starting immediately. The pay is £85 – £100 per day (£425 – £500 p/w) PAYE – No hidden agency/umbrella company fees.

The ideal candidate for this role would be someone who has experience working with children in a care, residential, school or social setting. Someone who has a kind a nurturing nature, as well as the ability to be patient and remain resilient as this role can become quite challenging. Someone with a strong academic background is desired, educated to degree level or equivalent. We need someone who is passionate about working with children and dedicated in aiding their development in social, emotional and mental skills.

The Ideal Candidate MUST Have A Clear Enhanced Child Workforce DBS On The Update Service Or Be Willing To Process One Through ORTUS RECRUITMENT – £52

Within this role, the successful candidate will be responsible for assisting the Class Teacher in supporting a Year 4 class. You will be a general Learning Support Assistant, supervising the children whilst they work and helping to maintain a calm working environment as well as maintaining good behaviour and attitude to learning. You will be required to undertake administrative duties, such as marking work, handing out classwork/homework, marking reading diaries and helping to prepare worksheets by photocopying and laminating them. You will also need to liaise with the class teacher and the parents/carers to help provide feedback about the learners day and discuss pupil progress.
