Learning Support Assistant | Camden | £400 – £500 Weekly (PAYE)
The team at Ortus Recruitment are dedicated to ensuring the highest quality of teaching and learning is being implemented in our client schools. We are currently looking for an experienced, proactive and passionate individual to join the team at a primary school in the London Borough of Camden.
As a Learning Support Assistant you will be encourage emotional, social and academic development amongst students with Special Educational Needs. You will need to confidently lead numeracy, literacy and phonics interventions in small groups of raise attainment and help students achieve set targets. Some students will require support on a 1:1 basis if their needs are more severe.
What will you do?
- Prepare learning materials
- Lead subject interventions
- Adapt teaching support according to student’s needs
- Look after children’s physical, social and emotional welfare
- Create an interesting environment for students
- Keep records and attend review meetings
- Work with professionals such as speech and language therapists
If you have prior experience working with SEN children or experience with behaviour management then this role is for you! Individuals with relevant qualifications are also encouraged to apply.
You will be aided by a lovely and supportive Senior Leadership Team, who will always be on hand. As well as this, the school offer CPD courses and training when necessary to help further your career and for those deemed most suitable, there is the opportunity to be placed on the school’s Teacher Training Programme.
You must be able to provide an enhanced DBS (or willing to apply for one through Ortus Recruitment), proof of Right to Work in the UK and a minimum of 2 references.
