Learning Support Assistant – Croydon

A warm, friendly, and hard-working Learning Support Assistant is required within this Croydon based Primary School for September 2023. This Learning Support Assistant role will see you supporting the class teacher to enhance pupil’s learning either in groups or individually. As the new Learning Support Assistant, you will be required to ensure pupils understand the work that is set as well as staying on task.

Responsibilities include:

• Supporting students who have learning difficulties
• working proactively to help students achieve their attainment levels
• encourage students to engage proactively with their learning
• helping to provide a safe environment for children to learn.
• assisting the teacher with students general learning and development.

You will be:

• Knowledgeable and experienced in special needs and learning difficulties
• A strong communicator, able to build a rapport with young people
• Patient and empathetic
• Reliable and committed to the school and students’ improvement
• Enthusiastic and engaging
• Able to work alongside the teacher and independently
• Certifications and attendance to training courses for SEN are beneficial, as well as first hand experience with SEN.
