As part of our mission, we are seeking a passionate and dedicated Learning Support Assistant to join our team.
Job Description: As a Learning Support Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting the educational and emotional development of our students. Working closely with teachers and other staff members, you will provide assistance to students who require additional support, both in the classroom and during extracurricular activities. Your responsibilities will include:
- Providing one-to-one or small group support to students with special educational needs or disabilities.
- Assisting teachers in planning and delivering differentiated lessons to meet the diverse needs of students.
- Supporting students with learning activities, including literacy, numeracy, and social skills development.
- Promoting a positive and inclusive learning environment where all students feel valued and supported.
- Collaborating with parents, teachers, and other professionals to develop and implement individual education plans (IEPs) for students with specific needs.
- Monitoring and recording student progress, and providing feedback to teachers and parents as required.
Requirements:
- Previous experience working with children in an educational setting, ideally as a Learning Support Assistant or Teaching Assistant.
- A genuine passion for supporting the learning and development of children, including those with special educational needs.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.
- Patience, empathy, and resilience in working with children facing various challenges.
- Relevant qualifications or training in education, childcare, or special needs support are desirable but not essential.
