Learning Support Assistant Opportunity – Primary School in South Croydon

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Learning Support Assistant to join our inclusive and vibrant primary school in South Croydon. This is an excellent opportunity to become a valued member of our team and help create a positive and supportive learning environment for our pupils.

Position Details:

• Location: South Croydon
• Hours: 8:30 am – 3:30 pm (Monday to Friday)
• Salary: £85 – £100 per day (depending on experience and qualifications)
• Contract: Full-time, term-time only

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide tailored support to individual pupils or small groups, focusing on their specific learning needs.
• Assist pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN), helping them access the curriculum and achieve their goals.
• Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and behavior strategies.
• Foster a nurturing, inclusive, and stimulating environment where every child feels valued and encouraged.
• Support pupils’ social and emotional development, helping them build confidence and resilience.
• Contribute to the preparation of learning materials and classroom activities.

What We’re Looking For:

We are seeking candidates with:

• A passion for working with children and supporting their development.
• Patience, empathy, and adaptability to meet the diverse needs of pupils.
• Strong communication skills to collaborate with teachers, parents, and external professionals.
• A proactive approach, showing initiative and a willingness to learn.
• Previous experience in a similar role or working with SEN pupils is desirable but not essential.
• A relevant qualification, such as a Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant or SEN certificate, is an advantage.
