The team at Ortus Recruitment are looking for an experienced educator to prepare children for their future by supporting in their emotional, social and academic development. The schools we work with are Ofsted rated ‘Good‘ or ‘Outstanding‘, provide training and CPD courses to ensure career progression and offer consistent support and motivation. We are currently recruiting for a Learning Support Assistant to join the team in a mainstream primary school in the London Borough of Barnet.
Role: Learning Support Assistant
Job Type: Full-time, Long-term, Term-Time

Start Date: Immediate
Learning Support Assistant Responsibilities:
- Manage behaviour effectively
- Support on a 1:1 basis
- Lead interventions to raise attainment
- Support emotional, social and academic development
- Liaise with parents/carers
- Monitor progress through targets
- Safeguarding/working alongside SENCo
- Working alongside classroom teacher
- Building nurturing attachments and fostering trust
Learning Support Assistant Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Education or related qualification
- Experience working with SEN
- Firm but fair approach
- Behaviour management experience
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to create a positive and inclusive classroom environment
- Knowledge of current educational trends and best practices
