The Job Summary:

• Pay: £80 – £90 per day, PAYE – No hidden agency/umbrella company fees
• Role: Full time, Long term, Monday – Friday (08:30 – 16:00)

Here at Ortus Recruitment we are seeking an experienced Learning Support Assistant to join one of our amazing Mainstream Primary Schools, located in the London Borough of Southwark, Peckham Rye. The school are seeking someone who is able to come in and hit the ground running, easily building positive rapports with both staff and students to help maintain the productive learning and working environment.

The Job Requirements:

• You will need to have experience working alongside children in a care, residential, school or social (coaching, nannying, tutoring) setting.
• You will need to have a basic knowledge of the British curriculum
• You will need to have a strong academic background, educated to degree level or equivalent (desired, not essential), you will need to have minimum Grade C in GCSE English and Math (essential)
• You will need to be passionate about working with children and dedicated to providing them with an engaging and stimulating learning environment
• You will need to have a ‘Can do’ attitude.

Must have:

• Two obtainable childcare relevant references
• A clear Enhanced Child Workforce DBS on the update service or be willing to process one through Ortus Recruitment – £52

The main responsibilities within this role:

• You will be required to work as both a General Teaching Assistant and a 1:1 Teaching Assistant where necessary
• You will be required to assist the Class Teacher in supporting a mainstream Year 5 class
• You will need to undertake administrative duties such as, marking classwork and homework, assisting the Class Teacher with updating display boards and signing reading diaries
• You will need to liaise with the Class Teacher and ensure that pupils are receiving the necessary support and to feedback the pupils academic and behavioural progress
