Job Summary:

• Pay: £85 – £100 per day, PAYE – No hidden agency/umbrella company fees
• Role: Full time, Long term, Monday – Friday (08:30 – 16:00)

Here at Ortus Recruitment we are seeking an experienced Learning Support Assistant to join one of our vibrant Mainstream Primary Schools located in the London Borough of Southwark, Rotherhithe. The school are looking for someone who can come in and hit the ground running by easily building positive rapport with both pupils and staff.

Must have:

• The ideal candidate must have a clear Enhanced Child Workforce DBS on the Update Service or be willing to process one through Ortus Recruitment – £52
• The ideal candidate must have TWO obtainable childcare relevant references
• The ideal candidate must have Minimum Grade C in GCSE English and Math

The ideal candidate for this role will:

• Have experience working as a Teaching Assistant in a classroom setting
• Have experience working alongside both mainstream and SEN learners
• Be able to follow instructions effectively but also be able to work off of your own initiative
• Be able to easily build a positive rapport with both pupils and staff
• Have a good understanding of safeguarding children in education
• Have a good knowledge of the British curriculum
• Have a strong academic background, educated to degree level or equivalent

Main Responsibilities within this role:

• Assist the Class Teacher in supporting a Year 3 class with their activities and classwork
• Work alongside the Class Teacher and ensure the pupils are receiving the necessary support
• Supervise the pupils in and around the school building, in the corridors, the lunch hall and the playground
• Undertake administrative duties such as updating display boards, marking classwork/ homework
• Liaising with Parents/Carers, providing feedback and pupil progress
