SEN Teaching Assistant – 1:1 Support – Primary School

A welcoming and inclusive primary school in Whitley Wood, Reading is seeking a SEN Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 support for a pupil with special educational needs.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide 1:1 classroom support for a pupil with SEN
• Support learning, engagement, and emotional regulation
• Work closely with the class teacher and SENCo to support EHCP targets
• Encourage positive behaviour and social development
• Monitor progress and contribute to a supportive learning environment

This Role Is Ideal For:

• Teaching Assistants or Learning Support Assistants
• Graduates interested in teaching or educational psychology
• Individuals with experience in SEN, care, youth work, or support roles
• Candidates passionate about supporting children with autism, ADHD, or speech and language needs

Requirements:

• Experience working with children or young people with SEN
• A patient, supportive, and calm approach
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
